Ramnath Santosh Ramanathan, MD

Dr. Ramanathan originally hails from India. He received his medical degree from SMT NHL Municipal Medical College in India, following which he moved to the states and did his preliminary internal medicine residency at Brookdale Hospital in New York, followed by a Neurology residency at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He did his fellowship in Vascular Neurology (stroke) with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is board certified in Internal Medicine (from India), Neurology, Hypertension and Vascular Neurology.

Raed Azzam, MD

Dr. Azzam is a native of Lebanon. He completed his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, followed by Internship at Akron General Medical Center and Neurology residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. Dr. Azzam completed an Epilepsy fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical center in Nashville, TN. He is board certified in Neurology and Epilepsy.

Lisa Humrighouse, PA

Lisa grew up in Canton, Ohio. She completed her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Indiana Wesleyan University, then attended the University of Mount Union where she completed her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant (PA) studies. She joined Akron Neurology in 2018.

Melissa Weygandt, NP

Melissa Weygandt completed her BSN at Ohio University, then attended Walsh University where she obtained her master's degree as a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is specializing in acute inpatient rehabilitation at Wooster Community Hospital and outpatient services at the Wooster location

Kristy Jacobsen, CNS

Kristy graduated from Kent State University in 2002 with her Bachelors degree in nursing and in 2006 with her Masters degree in nursing. She completed a fellowship in neurovascular care from Arizona State University and University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013.  Her experience includes Neurosurgery, Stroke, and Neurocritical care. She is currently a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.  Kristy continues her work at Kent State University in teaching future advance practice nurses. A lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, she currently lives there with her two young children
